Lighthouse Spine Center was founded by Dr. Shahinyan, with the goal of helping patients achieve better quality of life without use of opioid medications. We strive to accomplish this with a wide array of interventional pain procedures. Our treatments are never a “cookie cutter'', and each patient receives an individual treatment plan.
Our treatments include non-surgical procedures for low back and sciatica pain, neck, knee, shoulder, and hip pain. We offer regenerative therapies, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Aram Shahinyan, MD is an Anesthesiologist and fellowship trained Interventional Pain Management physician. He is double board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by The American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Shahinyan completed his training in Pain Medicine at the world-renown Cleveland Clinic, getting instruction from the leading experts in Pain Medicine. After fellowship, he practiced at Geisinger Medical Center, one of the nation's best healthcare systems, before relocating to the Capital.
Dr. Shahinyan specializes in chronic spine pain and other painful conditions such as nerve pain (neuropathic pain), chronic pelvic and abdominal pain, complex regional pain syndrome, also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, pain due to osteoarthritis of knee/hip/shoulder, as well as pain after neck or back surgeries.
His expertise includes a wide range of pain management treatments performed under imaging guidance, such as epidural steroid injections, facet joint treatments, radiofrequency ablations, nerve blocks and joint procedures for cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis. He utilizes cutting-edge technologies to help improve the quality of life of patients with chronic pain. He holds special interest in minimally invasive spine procedures such as MILD, Vertiflex and Kyphoplasty, as well as spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation and dorsal root ganglion stimulation for complex nerve pain disorders including CRPS/RSD. He also specializes in interventional approaches for severe chronic migraine/headaches, chronic pelvic pain, facial pain, and severe nerve and neuropathy pain.
Dr. Shahinyan is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
